Santera wins at Stratford.
Thrilling finish for Santera.
All the latest news on our horses will be displayed here. We always aim to keep you up to date on performances, injuries and purchases of new horses.

The ground went against Razzano but we let her take her chance, she ran well until the last furlong when the ground caught her out. Fantasy ran really well, very unlucky in running, lost a few lenghts, should have won nicely, think we will leave it at that.
19-08-2008
badly needed a proper run after the last fiasco, will come on for this, looking for a hurdle race on proper ground.
19-08-2008
At the time of writing, Razzano and Fantasy should run at Brighton and Southwell today but if too much rain may not! Heron goes to Folkestone on wednesday. WDYK goes to Newmarket on friday. Crimsonwing has tentative entry at Beverley on sunday.

Fantastic win at Stratford by Santera. Gutsy win, but will probably be hammered by the handicapper. Alex and I will discuss what to do next!
31-07-2008
Santera put in an excellent performance today at Stratford finishing a close third, might stay a bit further? Only just beaten, unfortunately had hostile claims for her and it cost us £600 to keep her, will look for a handicap next.
22-07-2008
Fantasy will miss Worcester as he scoped poorly yesterday, he is fine in himself but it would have been a wasted run and could have caused him to bleed, should run in a weel or so.
21-07-2008
Santera ran well yesterday, thought she was going to win at one point. However Bethanys Boy definitely blew up which leaves us not knowing for sure if she was 100%, Santera is very genuine and always runs her race, hopefully she has turned the corner and will win next time!
16-07-2008
Although the horses are over the virus and their bloods are clean they are not running well yet. Crimsonwing really disappointed us yesterday, Alex believes that we will just have to run them into form and keep our fingers cossed, he has several entries over the next 3/4 days including Santera, we will have to see how they fare!
13-07-2008
As many of you know I am not the biggest fan of WDYK, I never back him even though he has won 4 races for us. Yesterday he decided not to try again and we are running out of idea's as to what to try next, so we will just run him more until he puts it in again one day!
15-06-2008
Muraco is a nicely bred gelding by Bertolini out of an Old Vic mare. He will replace Prince Des Neiges who has his own ideas about racing! Muraco is bred to win on the flat with a jumping background on the dams side. We may well run him on the flat before going hurdling but he has been purchased as a hurdler.
08-06-2008
Santera finished a decent 3rd at Uttoxeter, i think she would have preferred it soft but she is able to run on all grounds. It is likely that some of Alex's horses are slightly under the weather as some have performed below par including Brochrua!
31-05-2008
Chasing Memories has been given to one of our members, we wish them well with her. Shares go over to Santera who is hopefully progressing well having won her last race. Unfortunately we have lost seven horses already this year, having lost fifteen last year this is fast becoming a disaster!
24-05-2008
Mark has done a good job with Prince but it is difficult to get a horses head straight, however Mark has definitely got him interested again and he finished 3rd, Nicol gave him a good ride and got him to the start nicely. It is very sad when you have a horse with stacks of ability and they won't use it!
16-05-2008
Well I am totally shocked that WDYK has put two good races together, todays was on good to soft in a very fast time for the conditions. David seems to get on well with him and appears to manage to get him to run. We will have to look and see where to go with him next but a word of caution we have twice been in the situation where a horse has been going for the hat trick and lost both of them to very serious injuries!
30-04-2008
Santera handled the conditions well at Worcester today and won nicely by 4.5 lengths. Excellent ride, not under any pressure, got a little tired after the last. Not sure how moderate she is but we bought her back for 4,500g sure she will win again somewhere. Only slight concern is does she want soft ground!
27-04-2008
WDYK won his fourth race at Brighton today, his first on turf! He tried to stop several times in the last furlong but still won by 2 lengths. Unfortunately we never know when he is trying and so have never had a decent bet on him! He is capable of running in some very high class races, if he wants to!
22-04-2008
Good run from Ali today, he missed the break which is unusual for him but ran on nicely to take third suggesting that 7f is probably his best trip. Hopefully he will be sound in the morning! it is such a shame that a genuine horse like Ali Bruce has glass legs, all being well he will go closer next time if only we could find a race!
18-04-2008
Razzano ran well and finished 3rd at Kempton last night, this was a good run but she is far better on firm turf, we look forward to seeing some nice hot weather!
29-03-2008
A very good run from WDYK last night, not as fast away as we would have liked which probably cost him the race! Jamie had to use him in the first furlong to get the lead, you cannot have it at both ends, will probably run in a visor next time but we were still very pleased with a third!
20-03-2008
Ali Bruce ran nicely but very keen at Lingfield, he was excited to be back on the track and bolted to the start! he also took a fierce hold during the race making the running before tiring. He will come on for this run and if suffering no ill effects will go again shortly. Tetragon ran very well challenging most of the way before dropping out in the last furlong, Jamie thinks he wants a bit further now on the flat, the main thing is he showed that he is well in himself! Queen Macha ran very well, still a bit green, up with the pace all the way, Andrew was not hard on her, although not placed this was an improved run from her first start, she scoped clean after the race, more good news, will now look for another race fpr a handicap mark! Entries will be updated later as we might be making some for the 26th now.
17-03-2008
Heron set a blistering pace at Wolverhampton today, he looked like he was going to hang on for a win but lost it close home and finished 4th. The winner was entitled to win as we were 13lbs wrong with him, very few or nil races at present over these distances for 3yo's and we may well take the blinkers off and try and settle him over a longer distance as an experiment. His sire was a top 6f horse and his dam won over a mile.
25-02-2008
The jockey, Darren got off of Fantasy and said that it must have been soft when he won at Ludlow as he struggled to go the pace but ran on very well at the finish, jumped exceedingly well and that he should be run over 3 miles. Alex has already planned to send him chasing after the 1st of May.
05-02-2008
Tetragon put in a nice performance at Sedgefield today and will no doubt have come on again for the run. Byron said the fast early pace and also the track did not really suit so we were very pleased with him finishing 4th. looking forward to him running next time, in the right race at the right track, ground is not a problem!
04-02-2008
We purchased Queen Macha today after she finished a nice 3rd on her debut. She ran very green and looked a bit overawed by the goings ons around her but looks a nice prospect. She is by Almutawakel and we will probably try her over trips in excess of 1ml. She is nicely made and a good size and would like to think will jump a hurdle as she matures. She will probably run in 2/3 weeks as you have to give them a bit of time after their first run.
04-02-2008
Endless Night is transfered to Ali Bruce 9runs on the 13th) and Regal to Queen Macha.
01-02-2008
Regal Raider is dead after breaking a leg on the gallops this morning. It was a freak accident and is part of racing unfortunately. However he was a very good horse and was worth getting on for £20,000 from a business point of view and would have been sold in the Spring and the money as per usual from our sales put back into Brick Farm Racing which has made a loss again this year. Although feeling for the horse we are also feeling this loss badly, shares will be put over to another horse by tuesday, we would be grateful if you did not ring or email regarding this as it hurts.
27-01-2008
Nice run from Pongo on ground that suited, he likes good ground and will win races this summer. This was won today by a horse with a touch of class, would have been nice to have finished closer but william got off and said he needs 3 miles, got tapped for toe and fluffed a fence or two, started to run on again at the finish. Will look for a race over 3ml in a couple of weeks as long as the ground is ok.
25-01-2008
The ground was soft enough for Endless at Fontwell, the race was quite a good one and he ran well for most of the race but fell in a hole towards the business end, job to access this run!
23-01-2008
Tetragon ran a blinder as it was his first run for nearly a year plus he has had an operation, the lad said he needed the run which we knew and that he would go close next time, we were very pleased and it looks as if the wind op was a success. Fantasy ran a great race finishing really well, he needed further possibly 2 miles, neither horse was beaten far and we think Fantasy would have won in another furlong or so as he finished with some pace. Unfortunately there are not any 2 mile races at present on the all weather, great race planning as usual by the courses!
20-01-2008
WDYK is fine now, he must have knocked his off fore when the gates opened, fortunately Richard eased him and there is no reason why he should not run in a couple of weeks except that there are not any races except for claimers.
09-01-2008
WDYK ran well at Lingfield after his break and finished 4th which was our first placing of 2008! We didn't expect him to win as he always needs a run to put himself right and the blinkers were left off. Pat was pleased with him and said he will come on well for it and should run again quite soon, this decision will be down to Alex after he see's how the horse is.
03-01-2008
Not one of Byrons best rides! was asleep at the start and did not have Fantasy where Alex wanted him(5th or 6th ) he made good ground down the back straight and finished 7th. The grond was not good or good to firm in places as predicted, more good to soft, we do not think Fantasy really stayed the 2ml 4f in this ground but would do on better ground. This was quite a jump in grade for him and we may drop him again (if fit) on the 17th at Ludlow.
31-12-2007
Pongo had a disasterous run at Taunton, they gave the ground as good, good to soft in places but the truth of the matter was that it was closer to heavy, apologies to all concerned and those who made the long trip including myself who wasted 10 hours!
28-12-2007
Regals cut has stayed closed and has been repadded, should be back in work next week. WDYK has had some physio and should be back in work early next week!
26-12-2007
We are having a very disappointing festive period! Regal cut his heel very badly this morning on the gallops, these cuts can be a nuisance as they can take a long time to heal, he will be on box rest for a week. WDYK has pulled a muscle in his off hind, the physio is seeing him today but we are not optimistic of him running on Sunday. We made over 30 entries for the festive season and next week and are bitterly disappointed as probably you are as well that we do not have any definite runners to show for it, apart from the cost, in excess of £1000, the chance of any prize money!
13-12-2007
I visited the horses yesterday and took the staff their Xmas box, i should go more often but the office keeps me very busy!. Still I can really see the difference this way in the way the horses have progressed. Aryshvic is looking really well and starting to mature, quite stunning and will be better next year! Fantasy Legend has come on in leaps and bounds since his first run for us and looks fantastic! Pongo's Nephew has improved out of recognition and i did not believe it was the same horse, over his virus he looks magnificent and i look forward to him running, he replaces Prince at present. WDYK looks well and will run after Xmas. Regal Raider looks really well and his leg is improving. Endless Night also looks really well as does Tetragon and i expect them to run over Xmas. Crimsonwing has filled out as has Razzano and She Knows Too Much.
Fantastic win for Fantasy Legend!
13-12-2007
Fantasy won well today at Ludlow at a nice price of 16 to 1, hope you were on it, did it nicely and I had to pay £600 to keep him but we need winners to sell the shares, unfortunately although the most successful club in the country, sales of shares has been pathetic, no other word for it, very disappointing, what do people want for £130 a year!!!
13-12-2007
Ali Bruce is back in full work now and is about 3 weeks off a run, hope I haven't jumped the gun here so fingers crossed he stays sound!
08-12-2007
Brilliant ride from Andrew, the other jockeys conspired to make us lead but he took it in his stride and led all the way and won by 2 lenghts. But make the most of it as i am sure the handicapper will slaughter us, on a sadder note his cut from Kempton opened up and he looked a bit sore, fingers crossed.
04-12-2007
Ran too free for his own good, used himself up, apart from that he ran a bit better again and finished 3rd, we knew he probably could not beat the winner but had to run as there was no where else, so not bad really if he keeps improving should win shortly!
30-11-2007
Razzano, She Knows Too Much and Crimsonwing are being rested at presesnt, there shares are temporally transfered to the following until they run again. She Knows Too Much, to Regal Raider. Crimsonwing to Fantasy Legend. Razzano to Tetragon. We hope this suits but if you wish to have a different horse please contact us.
26-11-2007
At last another winner! Andrewe gave Regal a wonderful ride, coming with a long sweeping run to win a competetive handicap by a neck. Andrew has given every horse of ours he has ridden a good ride and we rate him very highly, shame he is based up north. Regal was not winning out of turn and lets hope there is better to come! He was a good price some of us got 20 to 1, lets hope the handicapper is not to severe.
16-11-2007
Regal Raider ran a fine race at Lingfield even though the pace was too slow for him, Eddie settled him in midfield and came with a good challenge in the last furlong, might have hit the front for a stride or two, we were not very well in at the weights in this race but were beaten less than a lenght, looking for another race within 10 days.
15-11-2007
Very good first run for us, bit unfortunate that the horse Byron chose to follow slipped up leavig Fantasy Legend out on his own 5 from home, a position he is not used to, it was no surprise to see him swallowed up but kept on to be fifth. Byron said although he jumped well he was still a bit green and will come on for this run, no sign of any wind problems. Will look for another race for him shortly.
10-11-2007
Poor old beau found the fast pace and the fences a bit much at fontwell, i did wonder whether or not he would like it there but we had no option but to run, if only we could improve his jumping he will be fine over fences and of course it was only his second start, we may however have to revert to hurdles as theree are not many races for him between now and xmas.
10-11-2007
I will try and rearrange the shares next weekend when we know what is staying in training and what needs a restuntil the spring.
06-11-2007
Two horses joined us today, Fantasy Legend 4yo chesnut gelding by Beckett from Nick Littmoden, has poor flat form but was sixth in a hot novice on his only start over hurdles last month, not beatebn far, the 2nd won a hot novice at Ascot on Saturday, will try and run him as soon as possible in a lower grade event. Pongo's Nephew 6yo bay gelding by Executive Perk, Pongo's Nephew is a relative of top chaser General Pongo, many good chasers in the family, he was with Tom George. Probably should have won a chase in the summer but fell, we may revert him to hurdles to start with, once again we expect him to run quite quickly.
29-10-2007
Please could you let us know as soon as possible when you require badges please as the courses need to know before 9am at this time of the year as the racing starts earlier. Unfortunately the courses make errors when dealing with owners badges some give 4 free some 6 and some 8, all give discounted which are £7or8. Occaisionally they give out the free badges to the first to arrive which is not what has been requested leaving some members irate, if you are offered more than 2 free badges this is wrong so please pay for the additional ones that you want. Badges are collected at the owners and trainers desk at the race course entrance.
18-10-2007
Regal Raider has joined our team from Ian Semple. He has a high rating and will run in races that he can win. First race could be at Kempton on the 29th or Leicester on thew 30th. Would be nice to win with him first time!
18-10-2007
Well Crimsonwing is slowly coming to hand, she ran a cracking race at Brighton full of promise for the future! She finished a close 5th with some good horses just in front of her, we may give her another run as she is still a bit green before giving her a month off.
02-10-2007
Probably my fault for running Prince in this race, he got a bad draw but was bucking and squeeling in the ring, went down ok, broke ok got cannoned into by another horse, hit the rail started to stop and the jockey let him! Very embarrassing not the sort of thing to happen to a horse like prince, we will enter him straight up again and put blinkers on him.
01-10-2007
We had a really good day at Alex's, all the horses looked exceedingly well, the new stable is very impressive and we were all very pleased, The gallops are excellent, both sand and woodchip with a very nice indoor sand arena. Alex is pleased with all the horses and we believe we have a good team in training. All the injured horses are at home or at Kim's but are heading the right way.
